'Cambridge Day' Becomes A Nonprofit

Cambridge Day, an online news site covering the Cambridge, Mass. area, is transitioning into a nonprofit.

The Cambridge Community Foundation has committed $100,000 toward that goal and has established the Local News Fund to raise financial support.

Marc Levy, who has led Cambridge Day as a for-profit publication for two decades, will continue as a senior editor.

Cambridge Day will recruit a publisher, editor in chief and several journalists once it has raised sufficient funding.

“Our vision is ambitious yet clear: to be the trusted news source for all of Cambridge with broad and deep coverage of the topics that matter most to the community,” the publication states.
