Healthy eating and athletes go hand-in-hand, but one chain is working with an Olympic star to highlight that eating well doesn’t necessarily mean eating less or sacrificing flavor.
This week Mediterranean fast casual chain Cava announced its newest partnership, one with gold medalist sprinter Gabby Thomas. The five-time Olympic medalist is one of the fastest women in the history of the 200m, per TeamUSA.com, and received three gold medals from the 2024 Paris Games.
The brand says the collab "kicks off 2025 by encouraging consumers to embrace the Mediterranean spirit of abundance with food that is flavorful and supports their well-being, with no compromises.”
The limited-time menu, available now, features three new items: the Spicy Lamb + Avocado Bowl, the Falafel Crunch Bowl, and the Garlic Chicken + Veggie Pita.

Among the selections, the Garlic Chicken + Veggie Pita contains half grilled chicken and half roasted vegetables, with tzatziki, tomato, onion, salt-brined pickles, cabbage slaw, crumbled feta and garlic dressing. The Spicy Lamb + Avocado Bowl features spicy lamb meatballs and avocado on a base of SuperGreens (cabbage, chicory, brussels sprouts, broccoli and kale) with black lentils and topped with Crazy Feta (feta cheese with jalapeño, onions, and olive oil), red pepper hummus, Persian cucumber, pickled onions, tomato, onion and lemon herb tahini dressing.
“Gabby’s authenticity, passion, and achievements make her the perfect partner for Cava. She loves our food, she’s inspiring and empowering, and she embodies living life to the fullest," said Andy Rebhun, the company’s chief experience officer. “We share that philosophy.”
The collaboration and new menu items are being promoted in-store and online, as well as with short films, seen here on Cava’s Instagram, TikTok and Facebook platforms.
