The vast majority of
Super Bowl ads have been announced by now, with three QSRs showing up as in-game advertisers: Little Caesars, Taco Bell and Dunkin’. Per iSpot.tv, this marks the most QSR ads in the Super
Bowl since 2010.
Only Dunkin’ returns from last year, as both Little Caesars and Taco Bell sat out 2024. Popeyes, which made its Super Bowl debut in 2024, decided to focus on promotions
around, versus in, the game for 2025, as did several other QSR brands. Here’s a roundup of fast casual and QSR ad efforts both in and outside the big game.
Top of the list is The
Official Pizza of the NFL Little Caesars, which this week released its Big Game spot for the chain’s new Bacon & Cheese Crazy Puffs,
featuring actor Eugene Levy and his famous eyebrows. The whimsical ad marks the brand’s return to the Super Bowl after a five-year hiatus, as well as serving as the launch of the multichannel
campaign that will run through March, per Forbes.
Taco Bell is back in the game after a three-year break, with a yet-to-be-released spot the brand has been teasing for months. The ad
features user-generated footage taken with the brand’s Live Más Drive-Thru Cams, which were cameras placed at selected drive-thru locations late last year. Fans were invited to take their
picture when exiting the drive-thru to potentially be used in the Big Game ad. A teaser broke last month featuring Taco Bell über fan
Doja Cat, but the Super Bowl spot is under wraps until the game itself. Per a brand representative, “Gotta wait ‘til the game, but it’ll be worth it.”
Dunkin’s
The DunKings are back, in an ad that first appeared on Sunday’s Grammys broadcast, featuring a lot of Boston (accents), a lot of Afflecks (both Ben and his brother Casey) and actor Jeremy Strong
submerged in a vat of beans. The quirky spot teases more to come on Super Bowl Sunday.
Chipotle decided to forgo advertising in the
Big Game in favor of a “Day After” promotion. The brand announced its “Extra Sunday” deal this week, which will give Rewards members free guacamole and Queso Blanco with the
purchase of any entrée on Feb. 10. The brand is also holding a special activation during the game for fans watching at home, which will reward up to 50,000 free entrees.
Starbucks
decided to get in on the day-after-the-game trend as well, offering Starbucks Rewards members a free tall hot or iced brewed coffee any time on “Starbucks Monday” (Feb. 10). Rewards
members will receive a coupon in the app. There’s an online video promoting the freebie, seen here.
Buffalo Wild
Wings will again hold its overtime promo for the seventh year. If the big game goes into overtime, the restaurant will give away six free wings to all customers who redeem the deal in-person on Feb.
