The Wall Street Journal has named Sarah Krouse as tech & media editor as part of a restructuring of tech coverage that will also result in some reporters losing their jobs, Talking Biz News reports.
“The time has come for us to put in place a structure that fully acknowledges tech’s all-encompassing role in the economy and our lives,” Emma Tucker, editor in chief, wrote in a message, according to Talking Biz News. “To that end, tech coverage will be part of a wider Technology & Media group, based in New York.
Krouse will return to New York after a stint as LA bureau
chief.

The WSJ is also seeking a deputy technology bureau chief to be based in New York, and for another to be located in San
Francisco.
“We’re also creating a new Tech & Media enterprise team, reporting to Sarah, and we’re creating two new jobs on this team based in San Francisco," Tucker added.
Tucker concluded by saying: "These changes do mean that some reporters and editors in San Francisco and New York will be leaving us. I want to thank them for their contributions to the Journal. I want to especially thank Jason Dean, who is departing, for his long and distinguished service.”
