Tensions appear to be flaring between Havas Chairman Vincent Bollore and Aegis Group CEO Robert Lerwill, after Lerwill commented that it would be inappropriate for Bollore - who also owns a 26 percent
stake in Aegis - to have a seat on the Aegis board. To date, Bollore has not sought a seat on the Ageis board, even as he has increased his ownership of the U.K.-based marketing services company,
which is the parent of Carat. Last year, Bollore seized control of the Havas board and became its chairman in a similar way. In an interview with French newspaper
Le Figaro, Bollore said he
would like to streamline the structure of Havas' management team.
