Michelle Zenarosa has been named editor in chief of LA Public Press, an independent nonprofit newsroom.

Previously, Zenarosa was the deputy editor at Reckon, and has also worked for such publishers as Fusion Media, Everyday Feminism and New America Media.

“Michelle is exactly the kind of leadership we need, and I’m excited to support her in leading and growing LA Public Press,” said Matt Tinoco, publisher and CEO of LA Public Press.

Zenarosa comments: “This is a newsroom that understands what I learned growing up: LA isn’t one story, it’s thousands of stories happening simultaneously in strip malls and apartment buildings and community centers across the county.”
