Gannett content, both real-time and historical, will now be available through the Snowflake Marketplace, thanks to an agreement announced last week.
This includes material from USA Today and the USA Today Network of more than 200 local publications.
Snowflake is a “pioneering ecosystem that empowers publishers to monetize their content for enterprise AI applications under just and transparent licensing terms," says Michael Reed, chairman and chief executive officer, Gannett. "As we all navigate the same challenges around unauthorized AI use of content, Snowflake offers a proactive solution that prioritizes both attribution and fair compensation."
Snowflake Marketplace allows enterprises to enrich their AI apps and agents with unstructured data from third-party providers for such purposes as sentiment and market analysis.
Gannett claims that it is among the first news publishers to provide content for enterprise use in an equitable manner.
The arrangement features news content, structured datasets and regular updates.
The company advises that its content is available “directly within your Snowflake environment.”
