Jimmy’s John’s latest summer sandwich menu comes with much more steamy side than the usual bag of chips. 

The sub sandwich chain’s “Summer Menu of Ultimate Temptation,” or SMUT for short,  is a “curated lineup of beach-worthy sandwiches inspired by sultry romance novels.” And what better way to promote the sandwiches than with a Jimmy John’s “novel”?

“The Blade and the Brine,” a two-part “romantasy” audiobook, accompanies the online purchase of any sandwich or wrap from the new SMUT menu through July 7. The audiobook, which “has everything you want in a beach read—drama, desire and a little danger,” is narrated by the smooth-voiced actor Walton Goggins, known for his roles in HBO’s “The White Lotus” and such films as “The Hateful Eight” and “Predators.”

Jimmy John’s new SMUT menu features the Spicy East Coast Italian, with a double serving of Genoa salami, capocollo, provolone cheese and Jimmy Peppers; the Beach Club, with turkey, provolone cheese and avocado spread; the Ultimate Porker, with smoked ham and applewood smoked bacon; and the Kickin’ Ranch Chicken Wrap, which has chicken, provolone, Jimmy Peppers and Kickin’ Ranch in a flour tortilla.

To unlock access to "The Blade and the Brine," customers must be a Jimmy John’s Freaky Fast Rewards member and enter the promo code “Beachread.” The audiobook will be released in two parts. Customers who order until June 29 will unlock part one, which will be delivered via email on July 1, and those who order between July 1 through 6 will receive part two on July 8.
