OpenAI Is Sued In Denmark For Allegedly Using Content For Training

A Danish media group is suing OpenAI for alleged actions that are similar to those cited in cases in the U.S.

The Danish Press Publications’ Collective Management Organization (DPCMO) announced the lawsuit on Tuesday.

“OpenAI utilizes DPCMO “repertoire” in its training and does not “respect reservations in terms and conditions of a website,” the organizations says.

“Denmark may be a small country, but the law applies equally—regardless of a company’s size or global reach,” DPCMO states.

The organization says it has reached out to OpenAI without success.

But an OpenAI spokesperson told Euronews that it has “"already held direct talks with the DPCMO on this issue and as a result we do not use its members’ content for search results or training.”
