Google is hoping to help publishers with new
hires to market its advertising technology.
The hiring plans were reported by The Information. There was no word on the number of individuals to be hired or their
titles.
Google proclaims it has invested in ways to help publishers sells ads, and is facilitating direct contact with agencies.
In June it debuted a tool called
Offerwall, which can help publichers monetize content while providing audiences with control over how they access it.
“Publishers can even add their own options, like
newsletter sign-ups,” Google’s Ads & Commerce blog says. “These options empower audiences to decide how they want to access publishers’ sites and help ensure diverse
content remains available to everyone.”
Two publishers told The Info that publishers receive “some of the lowest prices on the ad
space” compared to fivals such as PubMatic and Magnite, a claim that could not be independently verified at deadline.
