Bloomberg News is reorganizing its newsroom in a move that has led to job loss for several employees.
The news was announced by John Micklethwait, editor in chief of Bloomberg, in a memo to the staff.
The loss of headcount was not revealed, but some reports put the number at about a dozen.
Semafor’s Max Tani posts: "In a note to staff, Bloomberg EIC Micklethwait announced a major newsroom reorg/cuts, merging credit/finance groups, legal/financial reg groups. ‘We have sadly had to say goodbye to some colleagues,’ but Bloomberg will 'end this year with a bigger newsroom than we started it'."
