'Eden Prairie Local News' Seeks A CEO As Steve Schewe Plans To Step Down

Steve Schewe is stepping down as publisher and CEO of Eden Prairie Local News (EPLN) in September and a replacement is now being sought.

Schewe has led EPLN as a volunteer since January 2022. His replacement will be the first full-time, paid chief executive and publisher at EPLN.

As for Schewe, he is scheduled for surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, to repair a recurring benign meningioma in September. He expects recovery to take at least six months.

“While I regret with all my heart stepping away, EPLN needs to complement our growing team of professional journalists with a professional business team,” Schewe says “Volunteer energy will always be important to keep us centered on Eden Prairie, but we’re not a start-up anymore. I’m grateful that the continued loyalty of our subscribers and donors gives us the opportunity to hire a talented new leader.”

The new CEO/publisher will be tasked with leading EPLN’s business operations, fundraising and supporting EPLN’s  journalists, EPLN writes.

The salary range is $75,000-$90,000.
