Gannett has lost one of its important editors, Daniel
Sforza. He is stepping down as the executive editor of The Bergen Record and as Gannett state editor after almost 30 years at the paper, according to New Jersey Globe.
The reasons are not yet known. It is not clear if Sforza took a buyout offer, although Gannett has been offering them.
Sforza joined
The Bergen Record in 1994, years before Gannett owned it. He was named executive editor in 2018, and has the same position on The Daily
Record and the New Jersey Herald, the New Jersey Globe reports.
As head of editorial, he has faced growing unionization and brief strikes, the Globe
continues.
He is leaving within a month.
