Chick-fil-A Live Action Game Show Helps Families Honor Local Heroes

Chick-fil-A’s new game show brings new meaning to the term “pay it forward.”

The brand has released “Play it Forward,” an unscripted original game show that brings together “sports, competition and community giveback.” The five-episode show is viewable on the Chick-fil-A Play app and on YouTube.

Show contestants, which are all families, complete challenges to earn a monetary prize which they must award to a deserving member of their community. Each 30-minute episode follows one family through a variety of sport and skill games.

At the end of each episode, the contestants reveal who their winnings will go to: a “local unsung hero in their life — a veteran, mentor, or an everyday community changemaker.” The amount of the gift varies depending on the team’s performance in the game.

"We understand the importance of serving families beyond our restaurants," says Dustin Britt, executive director of brand strategy for Chick-fil-A, in a release. "We know there is a growing need for high-quality, family-friendly content, something that parents and kids can enjoy side by side. 'Play it Forward' brings all of that together in one free experience: family time together, the fun of Chick-fil-A and an opportunity to give back to those who make a difference every day in their communities."

The show is hosted by Chick-fil-A local owner-operator Andrew Allman and was produced and created in partnership with Glassman Media and Sugar23.

The Chick-fil-A Play app, available in the App Store or Google Play, is a free, family-friendly “digital playground with different ways to watch, listen, play, create and read together.”
