Bari Weiss Shift: New CBS News EIC Already Rattling People

Bari Weiss, who has had precisely 13 days on the job as editor in chief of CBS News as of this writing, is getting more attention than most new top editors.

Only three days after Weiss joined, it was reported that Olivia Milne was stepping down as head of standards and practices at CBS News. This, according to Variety, was the first senior executive to leave since the anti-woke Weiss came on board.

And The New York Times reported on Sunday that Weiss asked the “60 Minutes” team during a meeting, “Why does the country think you’re biased?”

It might be a surprise to “60 Minutes” staffers that anyone thinks they are biased (either for or against Donald Trump).

In another flap, Olivia Reingold, a reporter for The Free Press, the publication founded by Weiss, reported that New York police officers were “considering retiring,” over the probable election of Zohran Mamdani as mayor.

However, Reingold’s story was based on quotes from four officers (out of 33,0000 in the department), according to The NewRepublic. None of them were named.

Meanwhile, the Times also writes that Weiss is booking her own big guests and that she is irked by staff leaks.

Paramount acquired The Free Press for a reported $150 million and named Weiss to her post at CBS.

This is a story that is not going to quit for some time.
