Farmer’s Almanac, the folksy
periodical that has been published since 1818, is shutting down.
The last issue will be dated 2026, and the website will go dark in
December.
The company blames the “growing financial challenges of producing and distributing the Almanac in today’s chaotic media
environment."
The Maine-based publication is not to be confused with the Old Farmer’s Almanac, the yellow book that is even older than the Farmer’s
Almanac that is closing.
“Since 1792, this little yellow book has guided generations with trusted forecasts, gardening tips, and timeless wisdom,” the book says.
“If you’ve heard the news that another almanac is closing its doors, rest assured: Your Old Farmer’s Almanac is here to stay — and even
growing.”
