Popeyes is teaming up with long-time Netflix
series “One Piece,” in partnership with Toei Animation, for the chicken chain’s first anime collab.
Created in 1999, “One Piece” is a global hit series that
follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates on a quest to find the legendary “One Piece” treasure and make Luffy the Pirate King. With over 1,000 episodes, the series has reached
over 1.7 billion hours viewed on Netflix, according to a recent report from AnimeBuzzDaily.net.
The centerpiece of the partnership is a limited-time menu, available now, which includes the
Luffy Bento Bundle for $13.99 with two pieces of Popeyes signature chicken, mac & cheese, a Gum-Gum fruit lemonade and a Chopper's cupcake, $13.99. The Luffy Bento Box for $7.99 includes two
pieces of Popeyes signature chicken with mac & cheese.

The Gum-Gum fruit lemonade is “inspired by” the One Piece original fruit featured in the series. The Chopper's cupcake is
based on the series’ Straw Hats' doctor character.
“We set out to create a collaboration that brings our bold flavors into the world of One Piece and its anime fandom, the kind of
meal you'd want before setting sail for the Grand Line,” said Matt Rubin, Popeyes CMO, in a release. “Inspired by some of our favorite moments from the iconic One Piece franchise, we
infused the experience with signature Popeyes flavor.”
The collaboration has also spawned a series of limited-edition One Piece collectibles, available online for a limited time
beginning April 15. The collection includes keychains, T-shirts, bento boxes and other related merchandise.
