Tax Day is here, and a few restaurant
chains are trying to lighten the financial load with food and beverage deals.
Leading the charge is Qdoba, which is encouraging customers to “file” for “Tax Day Guac
Relief.” Members of the Mexican fast casual’s rewards program are encouraged to take a survey, seen here, about a time they had to “pay
extra for guac on an entrée elsewhere,” which will earn them a $5 reward to use toward any Qdoba full-sized entrée purchase. The chain, known for its free guac on entrées,
will also automatically drop the $5 reward into Qdoba Rewards’ members account wallets on April 20, and it will be valid through April 26.
Subway is playing off the 1040 tax form
filed by the majority of consumers by giving away 1,040 free footlongs. The brand’s Sub Club loyalty members that use the “flbogo” coupon on their footlong purchase thought April 28
will receive a free footlong. Customers that use the coupon code on April 15 may also receive a “surprise” free footlong coupon deposited directly into their account as a
“refund.”

“Tax Day can be tough, especially for folks who are getting a bill this year instead of a break when they need it most,” said Dave Skena, CMO, Subway North
America, in a release. “Whether you are using our Buy One Get One Free footlong offer or are one of the 1,040 footlong ‘refund' recipients, we hope a … sandwich from Subway provides
some relief.”
Wendy's is offering customers a free six-piece nuggets item with a $5 purchase made via the chain’s app on April 15.
On April 15, Popeyes customers can get
25% off on a 3-piece tenders combo purchase via the chicken chain’s app or on Popeyes.com.
Krispy Kreme customers who purchase any dozen doughnuts at regular price on April 15 can
receive a second Original Glazed dozen for free. The offer is good in-shop, in the drive-thru or on order for pick-up or delivery made though the Krispy Kreme app.
On April 15, Pizza Hut
customers can get a large 3-topping pizza for $10 in one of three crusts; Hand Tossed, Tavern Style or Thin 'N Crispy. The offer is available in-store, online or via the Pizza Hut app.
Del
Taco has several deals for customers on the 15th, including giving customers a free Snack taco with a $5 purchase. The chain also has a BOGO deal on its Crispy Fish tacos, as well as
a $1 Grilled Chicken taco, on Tax Day.
