As National French Fry Day approaches on July 10, a recent poll
from Checkers and Rally’s found that while Americans love their French fries, they don’t love sharing them.
The chain recently released the results of the Checkers & Rally's
National Fry Audit, conducted by The Harris Poll, which surveyed more than 2000 American adults ages 18 and up on their French fry preferences.
The study found that 60% of those surveyed
“admit they've ordered an extra order of fries simply because they didn't want to share.” Over 80% selected a fast-food restaurant specifically because they were “craving its
fries,” while 63% said the “quality of the fries is extremely or very important when deciding which fast-food restaurant to eat at.”
“Our National Fry Audit proves
Americans don't mess around when it comes to fries,” said Scott Johnson, CMO of Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, in a release. “People aren't settling for just any fries -- they want
them hot, crispy and packed with bold flavor.”

To celebrate National Fry Day (and ensure customers have enough to share), the chain is offering a BOGO on the brand’s Seasoned
Fries, plus a $1 Sauce Trio featuring Secret Sauce, Ranch and Honey Mustard, which will be available July 10-12.
The National Fry Audit also found that 75% of respondents felt
“crispiness is extremely or very important” in fries, with 27% highlighting that “crispiness is the quality most often missing when they order fries at a fast-food
restaurant.” And along those lines, 72% believe “serving soggy fries should be considered a food crime.”
Boomers (ages 62-80) and Gen X (ages 46-61) care most about the
temperature of fries, reporting that “fries served hot are extremely or very important.” But millennials (ages 30-45) and Gen Z (ages 18-29) are more likely to “say bold seasoning
flavor is extremely or very important.”
