Rita’s Italian Ice has teamed up with TBS for a limited-time summer collab rooted in nostalgia.

The Italian ice and frozen custard brand and the cable channel have come together for “A Shirley Good Time,” a new line of retro comfort TV-show themed menu items incorporating the brand’s new Shirley Temple Italian Ice flavor.

The new items, each inspired by a fan favorite sitcom, include the Bazinga Blast, a nod to  “The Big Bang Theory” with Rita's Shirley Temple Italian Ice topped with Shirley Sparkle (a shimmering edible topping). The Office Favorite, inspired by “The Office,” includes layers of vanilla frozen custard and Shirley Temple Italian Ice, topped with Shirley Sparkle, while the “Impractical Jokers”-themed Brain Freeze Misto includes creamy vanilla frozen custard blended with Shirley Temple Italian Ice. Lastly the “Friends”-themed  Central Chiller Ice Blender blends Shirley Temple Italian Ice into a smooth, icy drink, also with Shirley Sparkle.

“Summer has always been about creating memories with family and friends, and that's exactly what this partnership is all about,” said Carmela Hughley, senior vice president of marketing insights & innovation at Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard, in a press release. “After introducing our new Shirley Temple Ice, we wanted to build an experience that celebrates everything people love about summer -- from nostalgic flavors to iconic television moments.”

Both brands will also hit the road this summer for A Shirley Good Time Treat Truck Tour, which will offer frozen treats, giveaways, interactive experiences and “nostalgic surprises” to customers in select cities across the country.

Rita’s locations will feature TV-inspired treats, themed signage and co-branded merchandise and cups among other promotions through Aug. 23.

Consumers can enter to win “Free Ice for a Year” as well as exclusive merch in a TBS x Rita's Shirley Temple Giveaway by publishing an original photo or Reel on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok featuring a Shirley Temple Italian Ice or Shirley Temple treat from Rita's.
