Study: Finance Shoppers Valuable to Marketers

Consumers who search for mortgage or finance products online are valuable prospects to all Internet retailers and marketers--not just those in the mortgage/financial space, according to a study released Wednesday by search engine marketing firm iCrossing. For the study, Harris Interactive surveyed 2,472 U.S. adults in February. Twenty-four percent of the respondents said they used search engines to research financial services; of those, 46 percent had at least a college education, 64 percent have annual household incomes of more than $50,000, and 48 percent complete their searches by applying either online or offline for a financial service.
