Talk about comebacks. Only a few months ago Kate Moss was dumped as a spokesmodel for fashion brands H&M, Burberry, and Chanel after photos of her allegedly abusing cocaine were splashed all over a
British tabloid. Usually an incident like that means a celebrity's days as a product endorser are over. But now word comes that Moss has inked not one, but two new deals to appear in new ad
campaigns. One--for Calvin Klein clothing--was reported a few days ago. Now camera marketer Nikon says it will feature the waiflike model in a new campaign breaking this week for its stylish new
Coolpix S6 digital camera. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Moss will appear in print, TV, cinema, and Internet ads to promote the point-and-shoot camera. The Coolpix S6 is "sleek, sexy and
stunning," says Anna Marie Bakker, Nikon's director of communications. "The idea behind using Kate Moss was to pair the style icon in Nikon with a style icon relevant to consumers." Last year, Nikon
shipments of point-and-shoot digital cameras grew 25 percent to 7.6 million, but its 8.5 percent of the market leaves it the fifth-largest player, according to technology research firm IDC.
