ABC's Secret Weapon: 'Deal or no Deal,' A New Gameshow, Not Its Upfront Strategy

ABC, which had its last significant prime-time success with "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," Thursday said it is betting that the time is right for another game show. During its presentation at Press Tour in Los Angeles, the network unveiled plans for "Deal or no Deal." Despite its title, the show won't be about the 2004-05 upfront network advertising marketplace, but will be a new quiz show in which contestants bargain for a sealed briefcase that could hold millions of dollars, or nothing at all.
