Search Activity Up 12%

U.S. Web users conducted 7.4 billion searches last Month, up 12 percent from April, according to new data by comScore Networks. The research company also reported that Google was once again the market leader in search, with 44.1 percent of all searches. Yahoo claimed 27.9 percent, while MSN garnered 12.9 percent. comScore's data varies slightly from a report about search engines released this week by Nielsen//NetRatings. The Nielsen//NetRatings data showed Google claimed 49.1 percent of searches, while Yahoo accounted for 22.9 percent, and MSN garnered 10.6 percent.
