Geffen Records and kids' programming studio DIC Entertainment have joined to create a brand for tweens and teens called SPG. The lynchpin of the SPG brand will be the musical group Slumber Party
Girls, who will serve as hosts on the new kids' programming block "KOL's Secret Slumber Party on CBS," which premieres Sept. 16. It replaces the current kids' block presented by Nickelodeon. The new
three-hour block, targeted to kids 6-12, is a time buy produced by DIC Entertainment and KOL, America Online's Web destination for kids. "Slumber Party" will have online tie-ins, and DIC is selling
the ad inventory. The slate will include "Madeline," "Sabrina: The Animated Series," "Trollz," "Horseland," "Cake," and "Dance Revolution." The first four shows are animated, the latter two are live
action. In addition to hosting the block, the Slumber Party Girls will serve as the house band for the competition series "Dance Revolution."
