IAC's acquisition of Ask.com last July helped boost the company's second-quarter revenue to $1.612 billion--up 18 percent from last year's $1.37 billion, the company said Tuesday in its earnings
report. Revenue at the media and advertising segment grew to $131.3 million--up from $11.5 million last year, mainly due to Ask.com search revenue. Overall, profits totaled $53.8 million, or 17 cents
per share, down from from $618.1 million, or $1.77 per share, last year. But last year's results included one-time gains resulting from company sales.
