Mobile coupon firm Cellfire, Inc. has landed its first new client since the launch of the service in June, offering coupons for free body lotion from Bath & Body Works, downloadable on a users' cell
phone, and redeemable at any store location. Cellfire launched on June 28 with several major retail and service clients, including 1-800-Flowers, TGIF, Hollywood Video, and Carlson's Travel. The
service requires users to download a small program for their cell phones, and then allows them to receive coupons from each of the partner businesses. The Bath & Body Works coupons began distribution
last week. Cellfire CEO Brent Dusing said the coupons are designed to increase store traffic by luring new customers, and to retain old customers from being lured away by competitive brands.
"Retailers are also using this as a way to retain their consumers," he said. "Every retailer has competitors, and this is a way to have your customers getting back into your store."
