OPA: Ad Revenues To Grow 28% In 3Q

Web publishers reported online ad revenue growth of 28 percent during the third quarter, compared to the same period a year ago, according to an informal survey of its members conducted by the Online Publishers Association. That increase is slightly more than the online ad growth of 26.8 percent for 2006 projected Monday by research firm eMarketer. In contrast to Yahoo's recent announcement of a slowdown of auto and financial-services advertising online, OPA members said they see strength across all ad categories. OPA members include About.com, Forbes.com, Walt Disney Internet Group and McClatchy Interactive.
