Time Warner on Tuesday appointed John Partilla, a former senior executive at WPP Group's Young & Rubicam Inc., New York, and founder and CEO of Y&R's Brand Buzz agency, as president of its Global
Marketing Solutions group, effective June 14. Partilla succeeds Michael J. Kelly, who moved in January 2004 to Time Warner's America Online unit as president, AOL Media Networks. Partilla, who will
also hold the title of senior vice president at Time Warner, will report to Don Logan, chairman of the media giant's Media & Communications Group. Partilla, 39, will coordinate advertiser-driven
programs that involve all of Time Warner's business units. Since 2000, Partilla has served as CEO of Brand Buzz, a creative solutions agency he founded within Y&R Inc. He also served as executive vice
president, global client leader of the Sony Electronics account at Y&R Advertising. Partilla has also worked with Y&R clients including Campbell's, Colgate-Palmolive, Kraft Foods, and Viacom.
