Home Depot Shakes Up Ranks, Names CMO ... Finally

In a move it said is aimed at increasing its focus on the customer, The Home Depot is shaking up its marketing ranks. Roger Adams, who joined Home Depot in February 2005 as svp of marketing, was named svp-CMO. The move follows speculation about why the company waited so long to hire a marketing chief following the departure of John Costello, its former CMO. Tom Taylor, who had been elevated to evp of merchandising and marketing after Costello's resignation in August 2005, "has entered into a long-term consulting agreement." The company also announced the departure of Carl Liebert, evp of Home Depot Stores, and Bill Lennie, svp of merchandising and decor.
