MTV Buys Teen Site Quizilla

Viacom's MTV has acquired Quizilla.com, a user-generated online community for teens, from Internet marketer Gorilla Nation Media for an undisclosed amount. The deal expands MTV's portfolio of teen sites within its Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group that includes N.com and NeoPets.com. Quizilla features quizzes, polls and creative writing by and for teens 14 and up. Quizzes and other content from the site can also end up on teen member pages on social networking sites such as MySpace. Quizilla ranked fourth in teen community sites with 3.1 million unique visitors in September, up 25 percent from the year-earlier period, according to comScore Media Metrix.
