Land Rover on Thursday launched a marketing effort for its 2007 Range Rover SUV. The theme of the campaign, via Young and Rubicam, Irvine, is "Extraordinary Perspective," and furthers the Ford
division's "Designed for the Extraordinary" campaign that launched in February. The new effort, comprising TV, outdoor, print and interactive elements, uses sand art--on-site art pieces made from
sand, wood and other beach debris--then shows it all from the perspective of an SUV high above California's central coast. In all, three pieces of sand art were created for the campaign, and a
microsite at www.landroverusa.com explains sand art and shows footage about how the ads were made.
