600 New Ads Blitz TV Before Election Day

This past weekend was a bonanza for TV stations. Both political parties are spending tens of millions on key congressional races. New ads began blitzing the airwaves in the final push before Election Day. More than 600 new TV ads are airing--many with the GOP trying to distract attention from Iraq and President Bush. Political and issue ad spending will rise more than $2 billion for the midterms, which is $400 million more than in the 2004 presidential campaign, according to Evan Tracey of the Campaign Media Analysis Group.
