Giving Thanks For Technology

On the eve of this Thanksgiving 2006, I feel it is appropriate to pause and give thanks to the technologies that make my life, well, not only tolerable, but more importantly, interesting. I'm thankful to:

1. EyeSpot. For making an easy-to-use, open-source video mash-up application for me to use.

2. Yahoo. For making the Time Capsule application to connect the world through pictures, representing data in a visually intriguing way.

3. Sony. For making the mylo personal communicator, and for its effort in creating one of the most interesting form factors in personal communication devices.

4. Cynthia Breazeal. For trying to humanize the world of robotics and creating the first generation of machines with heart. Welcome, Leonardo!

5. Cozi. For trying to add a modicum of order to my family life despite my every effort to let things take care of themselves.

Well, that's it for this week. It is short and sweet, so enjoy your family, your friends and your technology, my friends. If you have a technology that you are truly thankful for... you tell me.
