Liberty Media chief John Malone is discussing a buyout of cable programmer Rainbow Media from Cablevision Systems Corp., reports the
New York Post. The paper described the talks as "informal
chatter" between Malone and the Dolan family that controls a major stake in Cablevision. The sale of Rainbow, which operates AMC, IFC and WE: Women's Entertainment could fetch as much as $2 billion.
