LAS VEGAS -- In a last minute announcement that appears to foreshadow a relatively uninspired NAPTE Conference here, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution said it would launch a new
entertainment magazine show, "TMZ," based on the celebrity tabloid website TMZ.com. WB says it has closed deals with the Fox's owned and operated stations. Also NBC Universal Television Distribution
has struck agreements for a new show fronted by Steve Wilkos, the lead security guard on the "Jerry Springer" show. Rumors are that deals are made with Tribune and Sinclair stations. -- Wayne Friedman
