Digital content supplier Bellrock Media on Monday announced its acquisition of mobile media company Moderati for an undisclosed amount. The move is expected to give two-year-old Bellrock access to all
major wireless operators in the U.S. and Japan. Founded as a unit of Japanese mobile infrastructure developer Faith Inc., Moderati became a significant player in the ringtone market before more
recently launching Mobile Faker, a service that provides fake phone calls to help users escape from awkward social situations. Under the deal, Moderati president Carolynne Schloeder will continue to
oversee the unit's day-to-day running as chief operating officer of Bellrock. The company is led by former CAA media and technology executive Peter Levin.
