Wiki technology company and community site Wikia, founded by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, has launched three new communities focused on entertainment, local, and politics, allowing users to submit
opinions on topics and then vote articles to the front page. The structure of the sites is based on that of ArmchairGM.com, a sports community acquired by Wikia last year. Ad space on the site is sold
through Federated Media, an ad network focused on social media, as well as internally.
