Gap Gets New Designers To Rethink Its White Shirt

  • April 9, 2007
Gap, which has been struggling with declining sales and an executive exodus, says it has signed up three hot American designers to create "a limited-edition collection inspired by the classic Gap white shirt."

The collection, named Gap Design Editions, is part of Gap's recently announced partnership with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, an initiative established to encourage new American design talent.

The featured designers are Doo-Ri Chung, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the sisters behind Rodarte, and Thakoon Panichgul (THAKOON). The collection will be available exclusively in flagship and top Gap adult stores, as well as online, and will range in price from $68 to $88.
