Hitwise releases a report found that Internet users have shited their focus ot travel sites, now that the Holiday season has ended. Hitwise data for late December 2003 and early January 2004 reveals
that U.S. visits to travel websites has increased by 23% and visits to shopping websites has decreased by 12%. The travel category registered a 1.4% share of all U.S. visits for the week ending
December 20th; travel has experienced a 23% increase and now accounts for 1.7% of all U.S. visits for week ending January 10th, 2004. Compared with the same point last year, visits to travel sites
have increased by 12%. Expedia, travelocity and orbotz were the top three travel sites, week ending 1/10/04.
