OK, I may have stolen the headline, but if I get my wish -- we'll be hearing that phrase all too soon.
I'm one of those people who made the personal choice many years back to use a Mac whenever possible. It's my choice. (If you're already chomping at the bit to start rattling off reasons why I'm an idiot for using Apple, save it. I'm not going to argue with you. I'm right, and you're clearly wrong. Now go back to minding your blue screen of death.)
In addition to being an Apple user, I also use several of Google's services. GMail is a dream, because it allows me to archive what I want to keep, instantly search all my mail, and I'm only using 10% of my total capacity after 2 years. Recently, I've also begun using Google Calendar to manage my schedule. I enjoy having access to my calendar wherever I have access to the Internet. This way, it's always the same regardless of what computer (or blackberry) I use to access it.
But what if Google and Apple merged? What if I could access my Google calendar on a wifi iPod? Or get YouTube clips on my AppleTV? (I don't really have one of those, but for sake of this post, let's pretend I'm made of money)
We're already seeing some cooperation between the two in the upcoming iPhone. Google maps integrated into the unit is a great idea.
But think of the other beautiful children could become of the flawless genetics of Apple and Google!
Great thoughts Sean, one only wishes it would happen, however, both Jobs and Schmidt are famous for being, shall we say, headstrong? I am also a Mac guy and Google user and love them both...
