CityXpress To Run Knight Ridder's Auctions

Knight Ridder has tapped CityXpress to run its online auctions. Through the CityXpress model, goods and services are provided by advertisers in exchange for ad credits that are earned if the items sell. If all works as planned, the ten-day auctions generate new customers and increased store traffic for local advertisers, good deals for consumers and revenue for newspapers. CityXpress has staged more than 130 event auctions for newspapers, generating $27 million in revenue. Recent client additions include Scripps Howard Publishing and the McClatchy Company.
