Greystripe, the San Francisco-based distributor of ad-supported mobile games, said it had closed $8.9 million in Series B funding. The funding round was led by Disney-affiliated venture capital firm Steamboat Ventures, whose managing director Dan Beldy has now joined Greystripe's board of directors.

Greystripe's mobile gaming network and GameJump.com portal now includes 800 free games from 70 publishers, and more than 7 million games have been downloaded since its launch less than a year ago. The company's AdWRAP technology allows ads to be wrapped directly with mobile games and applications, without any complex coding and development for the content owner.
