Monday marked a busy day for news on online video programming serving niches ranging from food and fashion to comic books, cartoons and TV fandom:
American Express Publishing's
Food & Wine magazine teamed with TheFeedRoom to launch an original video site, featuring such renowned chefs such as Bobby Flay and Emeril Lagasse
preparing signature dishes.
Next New Networks said three of its video channels--"Pulp Secret," about comic books, including a new review show, "A Comicbook Orange"; "ThreadBanger," for fashion
do-it-yourselfers; and "Channel Frederator," featuring vintage and classic cartoons--will be available through the new Joost service. Next also launched a new network called "Total MMO" for the
multiplayer online gaming community, including a show called "MMO Update," with UGO.com as a launch partner.
CNET's TV.com announced four new shows: "TurboVision," a daily video with comedian
Laura Swisther commenting on each night's upcoming lineup; "Prime Times Past," a weekly look back at TV shows from the past 20 years; "Extreme Beauty Time with Quentin," described as weekly celebrity
portraits; and "The Burning Question," with Swisher questioning people on the street about TV celebrity hi-jinks.
