Mobile content provider go2 said its go2 SpeedPoll--a mobile consumer survey that allows users to answer questions with a single click--has generated more than 1 million responses.
Irvine, CA-based go2 owns and operates more than 350 mobile Web sites, offering a reported 1 million monthly users free, ad-supported content and search capabilities across the breadth of carriers and
handsets.
Brands advertising on the go2 Mobile Content Network include Acura, Citibank and Toyota. With the go2 SpeedPoll, the company aims to provide them with consumer insights on specific
products, services, as well as on the mobile Web user base as a whole.
The SpeedPoll questions are integrated into go2's content channels--which offer advertisers targeted placement by category
verticals such as dining, travel and golf. On the Movies channel, for example, 75% of users selected "the ability to search by theater or film" as their preferred option, while 57% said they "would be
interested in viewing movie trailers" when deciding which movie to see.
"Users can skip the questions," said Lee Hancock, founder and CEO of go2. "But we designed SpeedPoll to be so quick and
unobtrusive that it generates a quantifiable, valuable response."
Marketers aiming to optimize mobile ad campaigns can turn to highly segmented survey data that the company intends to
offer--enabling the targeting of mobile Web usage geographically, by handset or carrier type, and even by time of day.
