Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S completed the acquisition of online ad network Jumpstart Automotive Media and promoted Robert Ames to vice president and general manager of its Digital Automotive Group,
where he will be the company's primary liaison with the new fully owned subsidiary.
Ames' group includes CarandDriver.com, RoadandTrack.com and Cycleworld.com, whose ad inventory will now be sold
by Jumpstart.
Ames was formerly vice president, marketing director, of Hachette's Men's Enthusiast Network.
The Jumpstart deal was completed with an initial cash payment of $84
million. Additional consideration of up to a maximum amount of $26 million will be paid in 2008 and 2010 contingent on the attainment of certain specified earnings targets, the parties said.
