Brightcove on Thursday opened a London office as the Cambridge, MA-based Internet TV platform provider announced deals with BET Networks' BET International and Hachette Filipacchi UK for video
channels in the UK.
BET said that later this summer, it will launch a video site, BETonBlast.co.uk, which will also use Brightcove's viral promotion abilities to enable visitors to
share and embed the channel's content on other Web site, blogs and social networks. Viacom Brand Solutions will sell advertising for the site.
Hachette Filpacchi UK said it will roll out Internet
video channels covering its eight women's magazines, starting with daily video coverage at ELLEUK.com. "This extension of our magazines' presence will add value to our brands, offer our readers a
broader experience and our advertisers a new way to reach their target audiences," said Dave Killeeen, digital director, Hachette Filipacchi UK.
Other major UK-based media companies who have
already adopted Brightcove's InternetTV platform include BSkyB, Sony BMG UK, Emap and IPC Media.
