Start-up podcast network
Personal Life Media has teamed with ad insertion company Podbridge to
offer advertisers "Surround Sessions"--a new dynamic ad format that adds a seamless mid-roll position to pre- and post-roll audio or video spots.
Personal Life now offers "Surround
Sessions" in all of its weekly half-hour podcasts, whose number just increased to 16 with the addition of "DishyMix," CEO Susan Bratton's own two-year-old interview show focusing on digital media and
marketing players. Concurrent with the move to Personal Life from Webmaster Radio, DishyMix has picked up two new advertisers: Aegis Group's Isobar agency and targeted ad network Blue Lithium.
A
sample Surround Session ad package for Blue Lithium consisted of a 20-second pre-roll, 30-second mid-roll and 20-second post-roll, but Bratton noted that the lengths can vary. She likened the format
to the old sequential Burma Shave road signs that would "tell a story over time."
Other Personal Life advertisers using Surround Sessions include the Omega Institute, the wellness and personal
growth center in Rhinebeck, NY, which sponsors four of Personal Life's lifestyle shows targeted at socially conscious adults.
