  • January 11, 2004
Internet Yellow Pages provider YP.Net Inc. Friday said it filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona against Stocklemon.com, alleging that the Internet publication sought to intentionally damage YP.Net's value and relationships in order to artificially drive down the price of YP.Net stock "for the personal gain of those involved in the defamation and libel." The lead story in Stocklemon's Jan. 8 edition carried the headline: "YP.Net Tied To Money Laundering And Fraud: Largest Shareholder Wanted By The U.S. Government." The story went on to state, "Stocklemon.com has been reporting on companies for over 2 ½ years. We now believe that we have found the dirtiest company to date in YP.Net."
