In an example of the randomness in which brands can be displayed on social networking sites, six British companies yanked their advertising from Facebook late last week after they appeared on a page
devoted to a far-right political party, according to the British Broadcasting Corp.
Telecom company Vodafone Group PLC, British bank Halifax PLC, cable provider Virgin Media, financial
services firms Prudential PLC and First Direct Bank, and the Automobile Association Ltd. withdrew ads from the site after they appeared on the Facebook page of the British National Party, an
anti-immigrant group, the BBC reported.
